Gloucester cyclocross race

Rob is the guy with the white helmet with his bike on his shoulder. He had two days of racing this weekend. He did great. His knees have been hurting this season so it was wonderful he was feeling good enough to be out there.
After his race we went up on a big rock and watched the other races. there was a Sassafras tree at the base. So pretty. They also call it the "mitten tree" because the leaves look like little mittens.
It is used as a flavoring in root beer and has a very distinct and satisfying smell.

A view of the race from above.

Sunny warm day and the air smelled like ocean.
