Crab Apples and Jewelweed




Oh I love these sweet rosy crab apples in my neighbor's yard.  They are very abundant this fall, like so many of the apples this year.


Here's a bright red variety. I love how they glow in the bright golden fall light.


Some jewelweed in the swampy yard. See the pickle-like seed pod above the flower?


If you touch the seed pod it POPS open and spreads the seeds flying in every direction.


Below is the pic of the flower after I touched the seed pod.  It's a great trick! And such a bright flower. The hummingbirds have been visiting it alot lately.
