Friday night movie night

Cozy night with the girls. Rob went to see something violent at the movies "I haven't been in months!!" So we got Ponyo from the library and watched it for the third time. Both the girls love it and I like it, too. We made popcorn (started a small fire in the microwave, had to pause and open every window, put out some fans and learn not to hit the "popcorn" button on the microwave for a half size bag of trader joe's popcorn) then we got back to the movie.

With spring coming along so quickly I'm really enjoying these last evenings with the hot wood stove.

Moon rising

Picadilly is planting!!!!

Onion seeds

Arugula sprouting up in the warm greenhouse.

And Rosemary planted for the herb gardens.

It smelled warm and lovely like dirt.
So glad to soon be eating green things from the farm!

The sap overflows!!

The sap was madly dripping out of the trees after a cold night and deliciously warm day. It was even overflowing onto the damp trunks of the trees.
We took long drinks and enjoyed the drip drip drip.

Hot tub quote

Georgia settled into the hot tub at my school job that has family swim on Sundays.

With a tone of surprise and wonder, like she had finally arrived, she declared,

"This is the life I've been wanting."

Who knew?

I did it!

I finally got skates on and got out there on the ice.

I had been scared I'd fall and hurt my back.

But I had to give it a try and it was fine.
Maybe even fun.
I only fell once and I enjoyed learning how to turn, such subtle weight shifts cause such big movement!

Here are Georgia and I taking a break and picking up some steam with a leaning thing they have at the rink. I'm actually looking forward to going again next year.

Snow!!

Landing on the spiraling grape vines and covering the forest.
Cookie bounded through the Hemlock forest and made tracks in the fresh quiet snow.
